Queen City Brewery: Reviews & Ratings
Queen City - located just across the street from Zero Gravity - focuses more on German and English style beers than other breweries in Burlington. The German beers I enjoyed a lot more, with the Steinbier taking the easy win. Smoky and sweet while having a clean finish. I would have 5 or 6 of these without even blinking, they were so good! The Oktoberfestbier was also very good, with it tasting almost like a honey biscuit. The English Ale was not great, which is a bit of a shame. One thing I noticed that made me dock a star was an appetizer being nuked in the microwave behind the bar before serving. It was a bit of a turn-off for me since I was considering getting food.
We stopped for just a few quick beers before a concert, and enjoyed it here. The spin on foreign beers was great, and I enjoyed many of them. Bartenders were fast even though it was very busy. The hipster crowd kinda have us weird looks, but didn't stop us from having a good time with some good brews!
Visited Sat 23rd August. For me, this is the best brewery in Burlington. I really enjoyed it. It's residential - so you get to meet locals and regulars rather than people holidaying from New Jersey etc if you go out in the Church street/Lakefront area. I liked their Hefe, and they have a quirky beer that smells of bacon! There's a pizza place adjoining where you can get good pizza too. RECOMMEND.
Going strong, ten years plus, in puny little Burlington. Not to besmirch this puny town, but it is a mighty feat to stay open like that considering the thick competition in this, the most enormous city in the city, which is still less than 50K. Enough about the town. The brewery shares a building with a pizza shop. Pizza's up front, and the brewery's in the back. Nice big u-shaped bar with lots of seats. More seats surround the bar, and there's outdoor patio seating, too. Their flagships that have carried them this far are their Hefeweizen and Yorkshire Porter, both of which are very good examples of those styles. Especially the hefe. Tried a swig of their Schwarzbier, which was also nice. Merch area had shirts, hats, glasses, key chains, and stickers.
We came here for some beers and there is a pizza place upfront that you can bring your pizza to the back. It’s kind of a Detroit style pizza that was 3.5/3 but the beer was five out of five and the people working there were nice enough. Felt like a bit of a local place.
One of the best breweries that I visited in Burlington. Vast selection and amazing quality/flavor. Landlady was my personal favorite but the Hefeweizen was also solid. Staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Best part was having the opportunity to bring my dog inside!
If you’re looking for a spot that feels like a warm hug with really good beer, Queen City Brewery is it. Cozy, welcoming, and full of character, this place makes you want to linger—one sip turns into two, and suddenly you’re planning your next visit. The beer is thoughtfully crafted, the vibe is effortlessly friendly, and it feels like a true neighborhood gem in Burlington. Come for the beer, stay for the smiles… and probably another round.
We sampled 8 different brews and each one was unique and delicious. Great ambiance and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love their job! Will definitely be back
